Managed by Q

Workplace teams are responsible for an engaging office experience, but offices can be chaotic. There aren't tools designed to support them. So Managed by Q created tools to empower workplace teams. Through their platform and app, they help office managers take control of their day and help run the office smoothly.

As they were shifting from a services marketplace to a SaaS model, it was the right time to refresh their brand elements (without altering their already established logo). With another brand designer and design director, we set out to highlight MBQ's commitment to the unsung heroes of the workplace.

There used to be some confusion regarding who Managed by Q is and what they do, so our work started with clarifying their position to help explain their value to an tech-savvy workplace audience.

The identity is part of a comprehensive system that includes brand architecture, messaging and tone of voice, illustration, typography, color, graphic language and photo art direction.

One of the most visible things we did for Managed by Q was creating a new illustration library that helped convey the many tasks that office managers do, help capture the physical office space and communicate the technology used on the platform. We hired Sam Island to create the figurative illustrations that represent workplace teams and employees in the office place. They are realistic with clean lines and communicate an idea simply, but also feel warm and playful.

The physical workplace is important to employees since they spend so much time there so to visually represent that, we created a library of colorful playshapes that were bold, abstract or geometric shapes. Mixing playshapes and figurative illustrations are a vibrant expression of culture in the workplace.

In addition to the rebrand, we also executed campaigns throughout the year including Office Boss for Adminstration Appreciation Week, holidays and launches such as our podcast and new resource guides.
